icecold and cool in other ways too.

My world got rocked when I realized that my last weekend in SD was coming! "What should I do? How do I wanna spend the last weekend in the US and A !?!" Luckily a couple of my friends had some plans and I was able to join them.. So I went to L.A!
Part of the plan was to go to see the (61ST Annual) Emmys! And some other stuff too.

One stuff being my very first icehockey match!
It was hard to believe that I'd go to my first icehockey match in CALIFORNIA! Considering the fact that I've lived the first 19years of my life in Finland!Anyways, there we went. It was awesome, of course. Even tho seeing how the finnish players in Anaheim Ducks(:Saku Koivu, Teemu Selänne & Petteri Nokelainen) didn't really pay attention to us 3.. Even though we had all kinds of signs and even a finnish flag. And they saw us. Thats for sure. They are so proud of themselves.. Wonder why.

It's not like they r superüberathletes and überrich and have all the looks. Despite that, I had fun.
And dont get me wrong.. I'm not disrespecting them! Oh not at all! I'm just disappointed!
I think they game was a good one. Some fights.. AND GOALS. But Anaheim lost the game 4-1.. Suckers. It was the Karma, boys! Next time pay some attention to the fans and maybe you will win. OR EVEN GET EVEN!

Some people seemed to be very engaged to this icehockey season opening time..(Not sure when the season really opens but it's about to open..I bet!)

It was soooo cold in the hall. Luckily I brought my San Francisco-hoodie with me. And luckily I didnt get sick. It's a real miracle actually..I was wearing sandals!

Before the match we saw the scene of the crime: the Nokia theatre were the Emmys were designated to be held the very next day! I felt a huge wave of happiness inside me when I touched the red carpet with my designer heels..wearing a designer gown and not so much fat.. This all in a half a second..in my mind. A girl can always dream you know.

After the match we went to Anita's apartment in Santa Monica (aaaw I love that place!) and had some margaritas..

...watched stupid videos from Youtube..ate tortilla chips and daim-bars from IKEA where we had gone earlier that day. Did I eat any $1 meatball-meals? Did I eat 20 meatballs and a lot of smashed potatoes plus gravy plus lingonberry? Maybe.

change

Change is such a horrible word.
I dont usually find myself in a situation where it's a good thing.
Very often some homeless people ask if I have any change. Some are 'clever' enough to make up some kind of story to hold on while harassing me. "I need just a couple of bucks to buy a train/bus/trolley-ticket!" - "I'm hungry and I need to buy food!" - "Why lie? I want beer!"
I even have a funny birthday card about change( and Barack Obama). And he was/is all about change. Changing the US and A to a better place and make everyone happy.

My change isn't like Obamas. It's not like homeless people's.
I have to admit though, that there are a couple of similarities, like "I wanna make the world better place" Well, who doesnt! Since the person who says this lives in this world too..and in this case it's me who's speaking. I could use some change too. Money-change. But I'd need a lot of change to get what I want. And what I want, is not some kind of bus/train/trolley-ticket. But my plan of making myself happy does include a ticket. Where exactly? I have no idea.

I'm not gonna tell anyone about these plans. They have to read them here. It's gonna be so much easier anyway. Since I know a lot of people who wanna know or just ask(and dont really care). I can just tell them to read my blog, and thats what they will do, if they really wanna know.

So I've found a school where I wanna get in. And to my own surprise, it's in F-land! It's not the easiest school to get in.. Or so I've heard. But I'm gonna try anyway. Next year. So during the next couple of months, I'm just gonna work. I also wanna do some of these things:

- see my friends and so-called friends
- see my family and relatives
- go to walk in one of our own forests
- cut down a tree
- dye my hair( nice dark/dirty blond roots <33333*sarcasm*)
- lose weight. (No buts and ifs)
- spend a lot of time with my loved one: Nappi aka Napa , the biggest reason why I allowed this change to happen
- redecorate my room with new pictures
- be a nicer person
- work and earn money
- go to a cruise to Sweden
- improve my Swedish skills
- improve my French skills
- improve my Italian skills
- improve my Russian skills
- read a book
- eat finnish candies!
- eat my mom's home-made (finnish) food!!!
- ride my bicycle like I've never rode it before!
- maybe start writing my blog in Finnish..
- show the animals/people I like how much I really care
- go to see my friends' apartments
- go to see my friend's baby
- go to shop at a local supermarket and pack my own groceries in the bags I brough in with me
- cry and cry and cry
- get wasted
- help someone
- go to sit in a sauna(ugh..I dont like the place really)

and a lot of other things.
But as you can see, the most important things are missing:
-go to the movies
-wander around in a local mall
-speak English to local people(in F-land they will throw me out of the store if I try that: "What u think u are!? American? This is fucking Finland!")
-meet a lot of new people
-meet a lot of foreigners
-chat with random people on the street
-give a couple of bucks/cents/dimes to a homeless person
-see homeless people(just mentioning.. seeing them is not important at all!!)
-take the trolley to places
-shop!!
-do some quality shopping at some quality stores
-eat at McDonalds, BurgerKing,Subway..
-get drinks/smoothies from CoffeeBean and tealeaf , Jamba Juice & Starbucks
-order pizza/pasta online and get it delivered behind my door
-be in the US

This is gonna suck.
In a way.

Tomorrow I need to do some tiny tiny tiny shoppings. I'll show u if I find what I'm looking for. And I need to take CDs and books back to library. Print my tickets(=a paper where is the secret number that should be enough..Let's see did Cultural Care give me the tickets or not.) Go to downtown and have a farewell-dinner with my amazing hostparents. Or well.. friends. They are not like parents really. More like good sister and good brother. Oh or well..a good sister and her good boyfriend and visa versa. (After all, they r married and calling them a sister and a brother..ehm.. not working)

Btw, I was in L.A -area yesterday. But I guess I'm not gonna have time to post about that tomorrow.. It has to wait till.. wow.. till I'm F-land I guess.
But I can tell you that I saw some famous places..and faces!
Jay Manuel!!
To mention the best one<3
I was so stoked during and after I saw him.
And gosh, he is so pretty. Unreal.

roadtrip part7. Monterey - Santee

This is really annoying: I dont feel like theres a lot of people reading my blog, but still I feel like I need to write it..And I need to complete my story about the Roadtrip! So here we go again..as shortly as possible.

Soo..after leaving SF, we drove to Monterey: the mecca of seaotters and other seacreatures. The town was very pleasant harbor-city with little boutiques. I liked it.
Although not seeing any of those famous seaotters pissed me off quite a bit..

The days of 'Sleeping in the car' were SO over! We stayed over at International Youth Hostel. And now.. I'm just mentioning, but doesnt YOUTH hostel mean that there should be YOUNG people? No offense to the old people, but cant you go to some old people's hostel or smt.. Anyway, the hostel was nice and no one broke any rules.. Or well, someone brought in a dog when everyone else was sleeping.. someone snored(yes, it was prohibited! hah!) and there was old people in a youth hostel(that wasnt prohibited.. I guess the hostel a) believes 'age is just a number' b) takes in anyone who is able to pay them..
We didnt have so much time to enjoy Monterey the next morning.. because we had to start driving towards LA and San Diego (= SoCal<3)..
It was so cold and foggy in the morning that some views that were supposed to look AAAAAAWWESOME werent AAAAAAWWESOME.. Just AWESOME.

We reached L.A in the afternoon, and then Marke dropped me to the Union Station where I took a train to San Diego. There my hostdad picked me up and I finally got back home. For a while at least.

You will never leave Chula Vista feeling normal!

some people have told me that it's not that safe to go to Chula Vista.
Fuck them!
Of course I go there.
And tonight I had a very good fucking reason to go there:
BLINK 182!!
and Taking Back Sunday and ASHER ROTH!!
Oh and Weezer.
(At the moment Im holding myself together.. I must.. wait..)
Asher Roth was the first one. His show was about 20mins. TOO DAMN SHORT!
But I enjoyed every second! And took pics and videos.
OH, and did I mention I started to cry? I didn't?
Good, cause i dont wanna seem like a cry-baby.
Which im not. Obviously!
(It was just that he was there! The Asher Roth! He'll be a big star if he will be able to keep his shit together long enough! but yeah.. I'm a big fan!)
Taking Back Sunday. OH WOW.
They played about half an hour maybe. I just smiled (and took pics and videos) in awe!
Oh and did i mention that before they started, a girl behind me asked: "Are you here alone?!" And I had to admit that I was.. Then happened something totally unexpected!! SHE OFFERED ME A BETTER TICKET! "If you want, you can have it! The seat it over there.. a lot closer!" Hell yeah I took the ticket and thanked Sarah. That was her name. Thanks Sara again! I found my new seat just before TBS was starting.
I felt so good.
And texted my hostmom if anyone back home wants to come too.. Since at that moment I had 2 tickets!! I made Maja's dream come true and she saw the show too!(Or well, Weezer and Blink-182, not the first 2) We had to wiggle a little though.. Since we wanted to get both of us to the good seat(notice singular : seat! not seats!) But we made it.
Weezer played maybe 45mins.. I dont know. I dont know was it just that I ran out of patience or i didnt like weezer enough, but i just wished Blink182 would come to the stage already! but anyway, weezer was good. But TBS was better. And ASHER ROTH was god-like.. even tho they didnt sing that BOOM BOOM POW-'cover'. Luv it.
When finally BLINK182 started. Oh my fucking god. i felt like i was injected 5gallons of 100% happiness and maybe something else too :P Im not even trying to describe it to you.. to anyone. Not with words. Im just gonna keep on smiling (who cares if people think im a lunatic! and thats what ppl in F-land will think when I never stop smiling! Even when I complain about my fucking miserable life!)
One of my friends,Ina..well.. adores.. worships..has a thing for Travis Barker. Hell yeah I knew he was amazing but he was 100 times more amazing. He was fucking human-orgasm! Just look at him doing his thing and you may get pregnant! Tom and Mark..oh, my god.. some really fun dudes. And so talented that its sick! The whole band is fucking sick!!
Things got even more sick when Travis had his solo: playing the drums. Not just that. But the platform he was in... was slowly lifted up! And not just that: IT STARTED FUCKING ROTATING! SO IT WAS IN THE AIR AND AT THE SAME TIME ROTATING! AND TRAVIS WAS PLAYING LIKE A PSYCHO!(in a good way!!)
I have no words to describe this.
Im just so.. numb.
happy.
amazed.
everything.
it feels so good.
who needs drugs in this world when there's good music like this!!?
im so damn high right now.

ill post a few pics asap.
videos u can browse all by yourselves..
May youtube be your friend.

roadtrip part.5 Bishop/Mammoth Lakes - Modesto

It was 27th of August when I woke up, once again, on the backseat of our silver Volvo.
It wasn't as freezing cold as it was in Grand Canyon. Maybe because it wasn't 5am.

There was no showers at the campground, but I did my very best to make myself look and feel more decent. After all, we were going to Yosemite today! And in addition to bears and god-knows-what-monsters, there would be people. Our fellow-turists, to be more exact. And turists always have their cameras ready. And looking more like a human, not some wild unknown monster, it would be more unlikely to end up in someone's trip-album.. Right there above the: "We don't know what this is but we informed the ranger. If it turns out to be a new species, it will be named after us: 'Gustafsson's monster'"

(I think I look almost human there, well-fed one!)

While we were packing up our car (and I was munching some breakfast) someone came to say hi:

I'm not sure was it just that I was unlucky or was the chipmunk a clever chipmunk, but I didn't get a chance to bring him with me. Whatta shame!

I found something else though.. SOMETHING I COULD HAVE BROUGHT WITH ME! But I decided that even once in a life-time I do what I'm told to do:

..So I left this trap there.

Yosemite wasn't too hard to find. Luckily!

Soon after these views, we found ourselves in a LOOOONG line. Everyone wanted to go to Yosemite. (Elevation was about 10.000feet at that moment)
Once it was our turn to pay the entrance fee and get the map and warnings about bears and other wildlife..
At the booth, the woman there informed us about something else too! Something we weren't prepared for.. at all! Wildfires! There was a huge wildfire going on so we were told to take a detour to the Yosemite Village(where the most important things are.. and our campground!). The detour was several hours. And we didn't even have too much gas. And gas costs money. And I had very limited budget. And driving takes a lot of time. And time..well, I didn't have so much time either.. And just to add up something to whine about, Volvo's 'check engine'-light went on! GGGGRRRRRREAT! Just awesome.

Once again we stopped the car. No one stopped this time. Not even any german couple. There we were..two blonds, a Volvo and Volvo's manual, which told us to take the car to the nearest Volvo autorepair-store! HAH. Like there was a Volvo-repair in Yosemite! HAH. So we had to find the nearest.. So we started to drive out from the Yosemite National Park. On the way we saw the actual wildfire and I got some ash on my shirt too..

We went to some tiny town nearby to find a car repairer. In the town's pizzeria(we went there to ask for advice, not to eat) they had a crazy sign that said basically said that they can refuse to serve people if they choose so. And that they have a right to do so!(The woman there was scary that I didn't take a picture of the sign.. And I didnt wanna upset her, because we needed her help!)
She told us to go to place A. The place A just asked what kind of car we have, and when we told them that it's a VOLVO,they said they can't help us. I think that in this point we decided to put the Pentti(navigator..GPS..whatever) on and ask him! He found a couple of them. But the one where we went to, was clearly someone's private farm. Or just inhabited by sheep and cows and horses. I didn't see any humans so I'm not 100% sure. So that was place B. Went to the place C next and there we encountered some real mechanics: a potbellied/beerbellied man plus 2 others. The BB-man was clearly the boss of the place and he said he can charge us $50 for just taking a look at the car. Maybe fix it if it's some really basic thing, but if it's something a little bigger, he can do nothing. And probably he won't be able to do anything, because it's an European car. But at least he could tell us that since the light wasnt blinking, we should be good. But once it starts blinking, we would be screwed! And that the nearest Volvo-repair is in Modesto. We thanks the BeerBelly &Co. And left. Just thinking about probably getting a nice bill from that repair(if we'd ever get to Modesto!) or getting stuck somewhere in Yosemite's roads with a broken car(the towing costs millions) was brain-fucking. We were now about 40mins out from Yosemite and kinda lost with our plans. Not for long, and Volvo did something unexpected: the light turned off! So there we were again..in another brain-fucking situation:
a) to try to drive to Modesto and pay for someone to check the car(and the clock was about 3.30 and Modesto was about 1hr drive away, so the repair-shop would probably be closed already! And then we would need to find a place to sleep! Sleeping in the car was illegal and getting a fine.. ehm.. not a good idea.)
b) go back to Yosemite and take the damned detour and camp(= probably sleep in the car again). Then early in the morning leave without seeing anything in Yosemite( the detour would have taken so long that we would have gotten into our campground in the middle of the night!)

We decided to go to Modesto. But the closer we got, the more clear it was us: we r not going to take the car to the repair. The car sounded totally normal and no unusual lights were on.

So then we drove somewhere in the middle of fields and stuff. It felt pretty finnish.

We got some "cheer-up!"-food from Burger King: Hershey's sundae-pie and OREO-shake! And the day got again a little better when we spotted a man doing some crazy-ass dance-moves in his car! And not just body movements! The face and the mouth in it had some ridiculous moves too!! It was pretty hilarious. We laughed and felt a lot better. The day kept getting back to very satisfying when we found Motel6! We check ourselves in. No more sleeping in a car! We got our own big beds! And ordered some food from PizzaHut. And I think I watched True Blood<3 Season2. Now I've seen 2 episodes from the second season! Cant wait to see the rest!

a glass of milk.

A couple of days ago I was totally broke. I mean like seriously broke! And not just broke, I was in debt! I still am but I'm not that broke anymore, and I'm in bigger debt.

But the debt I'm in now, isn't just a financial debt: I'm also in indebtedness. My year as an AuPair ended a while ago, but I'm still living here in my hostfamilys house. (Wow, that just sounded like I just live here with my own permission, but no, it's not like that) I think it's just so great that there are people like my hostparents. Not everyone is so lucky to find people like "my people". They even gave me an opportunity to work more! (Something that I didn't always appreciate: working more than you are supposed to! Maybe it was just that working over-time with onions/carrots/cabbage/potatoes isn't that mind-blowing..)

I may be going back there to the onions and stuff when I go back to F-land, but I hope I find something else. Something closer to my place. I'm gonna concentrate on finding a job asap when I go back. And when I find it, then I'm gonna let everything out. Meaning let myself cry and scream. That's just something I need to do. I don't feel like crying or screaming right now, but that's because it hasnt hit me yet. I don't even feel like I'm going away. I feel like things are changing but I have no idea to which direction. Is this 100% good thing? Or 100% bad? Or is there a little bit of both? If so, how much bad and how much good?

I think I'm gonna take the kids to the mall tomorrow. And maybe McDonalds. Let's see. Today I'm gonna "baby-sit" the kids from 5 until about 10pm or later. (Kids go to sleep at about 8pm) and tomorrow is all ours:) And if any old hag says:"Oh, aren't you a little too young to have TWO kids?" I'm not going to say: "They are not mine. I'm _just_ a nanny." I'll say: "Who are you to judge?" or "Aren't you too old to judge" or "It's not 1920's anymore.. This is now. Oh, and btw, I'm THE nanny."

Definitely stupid. Maybe in love.

There's not much that I did today.
Or yesterday.

Yeah, yesterday.

Just checked and it's 00.30. So it's Friday. Urgh. So, my Thursday began pretty slowly. I remember waking up at some time when I heard the kids talking and I just checked that are they in my bed or on the floor. And since they were doing great and still in their own beds I closed my eyes again and fell asleep again. When did I wake up? Well, eventually. Somewhere between 10 and 11 I guess. I had breakfast, read the paper(especially the article about blink182!) and went back upstairs. Once again I skipped the morning shower and just put on some clothes. (Not that I was naked in the first place, just not in a decent day outfit) I had no idea what I was going to do. Movies are always a good idea. But I decided to save my money and ideas for later. So I continued a book I found another day while browsing around the library. And for possible curious readers: It's a book called Mr.Wrong. There are a lot of like essays written by women who loved the wrong men or loved the right men for wrong reasons or at the wrong time.. I'm almost in the half way! And that means that it REALLY is good. Because usually I don't get very far. If I read some book twice, it's something special. (And there are few of them too!!)

I didn't wanna be too stuck at my bed, just reading..So I activated my new phone! Nokia Mirage 2605 or something. Nothing fancy. Just a normal prepaid phone. Luckily they had some NOKIAS! If there hadnt been any, I probably would have chosen to be phoneless. I still don't get it how some people don't have a phone. Or not just a phone, but A MOBILEPHONE. This morning I had 3 very well working mobilephones! And back home in F-land I have one more! I totally get it that some people think they are cool being "oh so different" living without a mobilephone. Okay I totally don't get it! It's just stupid. Sure, you are gonna stay that way: different. Oh and did I already so alone? Well, now I do. Those are going to drop out of normal circle of life, and social life to be more exact! But well, it's their choice I guess. Or maybe not, some people just can't afford it. Or can afford it, but don't need it so much that it would be a good idea to get one. Who are those people? Well, there are some.. I guess they don't spend so much time thinking about making friends or moving on in that circle. I guess moving on is really the thing people should do. Including me. I'm one of 'people'. I'm in that normal group/one of the many/ 0,000001%.
Hah. Anyways, I activated my phone and exited the house. I didnt really have a plan. (Like usually...) So I just took my purse and bag, sunglasses(the wrong ones dammit!), Mr.Wrong-book and my iPod. First stop was Rite Aid where I got some ice cream: rocky road and chocolate. Total: $1,69.

I walked pass McDonalds(that has been hard after the roadtrip..wonder why..) and suddenly decided to go to Target. I needed a new mascara anyways.. But just my luck: they were out of brown water-proof Maybeline. The one in a yellow bottle. I used to wear the one in black bottle/tube, but when they yellow claimed to be even better I changed. So there I was without my mascara and aching to buy something! Luckily I was thirsty so I grabbed a bottle of raspberry-flavored water. Okay and Harpers Bazaar. Finally. I was kinda afraid that I'd end up NOT buying it but I got it. There's Leighton Meester on the cover. I think she is good-looking. And her character in that Gossip Girl-series looks cute. (By the way, never watched that series! I've seen maybe one episode or part of an episode in Malaysia. But it was in CHINESE. So I'm not sure does it count. I think I need to see it though.. Maybe I'll buy the first season, finally, from WAL-MART. It's only $18..) I haven't read the magazine yet.. I think I'll read it tomorrow on my bed or at the pool. I got a little sunburned two days ago though, so I'm not so sure..

After Target I wanted to go home and drink the rasberry-water and read the Harpers Bazaar..But for some reason I went to BurgerKing! And bought a medium drink(half coca-cola and half diet coke). I drank half and then refilled. And went to BestBuy. Why? Well, I needed earphones. Like earplugs actually. Not like the old, customer-service girl-type ones.. But I didn't buy any. They cost like 20 bucks. The same ones that cost $9,99 at F.Y.E. I dreamt of buying some TV-series' boxes too. Like all the Sex and the City -DVDS! Oooh. Or The Big Bang Theory! Or How I met your mother! Or Friends! AAaaaw. But a bigger aaw was coming: NetBooks. Notebooks. Minilaptops. Whatever they are called! Someone! BUY ME ONE! I hated myself sooooooo much at that moment. They are like 300$!! And that's how much I spent on useless thing in a month I guess! Or maybe not. Anyways, I mean, that I should have saved some for this additional month here! But noo, oh noo.. Not Jonna. Not this time. Never. 'Dont worry Jonna, I know how to do this..' Hah! Fuck you..sorry,I mean: fuck Me. I could have skipped 'a few' shirts and DVDs and things and bought a new laptop/mini laptop.. After all, this laptop is 4yrs old and dying. I have most of my stuff on an external harddrive anyway! (Thanks to Anu and Dan for that!) And then I could put my laptop to a bigger bag and check it in! Going through the securities with a big laptop and maximum handluggage is what I call semi-hell. I had no money for the mini laptop at that moment, so I had to leave it there. All alone. Poor baby.
At home I took a shower. And just relaxed. In the evening I got more brownies!! Heart says OH YEAH and the brain says Okay maybe a little.

Dan wanted to watch football so I recorded Project Runway and Vampire Diaries(pilot). Later I watched the Project Runway's episode, but saved the Vampire one for later. Instead, I watched a movie: Definitely, maybe. Even the name SCREAMS 'Jonna', so I had to see it. And it was even more tempting after I noticed that there's Isla Fisher in it! And Ryan Reynolds! AND Rachel Weisz! I don't know why I like her so much..There's just some 'thing' I guess. Elizabeth Banks. Hmm.. She is funny. But something is missing from her that I'd admire or 'follow' her. The movie was very good. Not like 'movie critic's very good' but normal person's very good. Jonna's very good. The idea was VERY GOOD. I liked it. The execution was good. I would have twisted some things even more. And made it less kid-friendly. Like shown how Will tells Maya 'a kid friendly version' of some break-up or moment and then on the other side of the scream how it really went: which would be not suitable for Maya's ears or eyes.. There was something A LITTLE like in (500)days of Summer. And that must be the reason why I liked it too. And Isla Fisher. She is so good. Looks good. Acts good. I'm happy that they didn't waste time showing off Reynolds' body or something. It would have ruined it..Or not ruined. Distracted;)

By the way, it's funny that I hear that some people love or like my blog, but no one seems to comment. Still. Even tho I changed the setting that anyone can leave comments -.- Not just the ones with a Google-account. Maybe I should start to write some questions or write more provocatively! Accuse german speaking people for not speaking italian! Americans for not giving me a visa for 10yrs the say I entered this country! And laugh at the people who don't know who was my first big crush! Or trash the black people! Complain about unemployed people! And rich people! Maybe I really need to write a post where all I do is complain(not that it would be much change from the current direction of my so-called blog)!

Tomorrow I'm gonna try to post more about the roadtrip. More pics and details. I also need to post more "these are doomed"-pictures. Just to make myself feel like it's ok to throw them away. And to encourage myself to get rid of couple of things. I also need to read the magazine. And more of the book. I'll try to exercise too. (HAH!) I have no idea what kind of changes there has been in my body during the last year..
It's 1.30am now.. Great.

So I guess I'm off to brush my teeth and then tip-toe to the room and climb into my bed<3 And sleep<3 Aaaw. I'm gonna do plenty of that in F-land. Oh, and find a job.(I applied for one job, in the UK, but I guess it's not going to happen for me..)I'll get a real work. And get a lot of money. And buy that new laptop/minilaptop. So.. Wish me luck. And sweet dreams.

Roadtrip part 2 Phoenix- Grand Canyon

After leaving this:

..we headed to the north towards the Grand Canyon.
On the way there we stopped a couple of times to take photos. But sometimes I had to try to snap some as we were driving.

This is a necklace that I bought in Camp Verde. Marke didn't know how to appreciate my deep thinking: which one to take. But the most of them were too nice. Luckily I finally decided and ended up buying only one.

One bigger stop before Grand Canyon was Flagstaff. It was very cute little town, right on the world-famous Route66.

When we finally reached Grand Canyon, it wasn't too easy to find our own camping spot. We totally assumed that it will be like a tent-village and the cars need to be parked further away. But no, everyone had their own little spot where to put up the tent and park the car( right next to it).

The Grand Canyon itself..was..well..it was exactly like in the picture and what I heard: big. But that was about it. Sure it was captivating. But still I think that one time is enough. So no need to go back.

After seeing this part of the Grand Canyon we went to do some shopping. We needed some food. When I was still in the line for the check-out, Marke informed me that it was pouring outside! And sure there was some thunderstorm too! Nice. And our tent was outside waiting for us.. "Now it would get wet.. all the way through to my blanket" I thought. The tent was 90% dry when we got there. Luckily! So what did I buy? As a well-educated girl that I am, I chose some cinnamon-brown sugar mini-bagels and triple chocolate pudding! Healthy shit! But I also had some Animal Crackers, red grapes and green apples that I had bought from El Cajon and Phoenix. (Later I forgot one half of one of the apples into the car for quite some time and the smell was absolutely gross!! Luckily it went away with the apple)

When we had dined at our gorgeous dining table, we tried to sleep. In the tent. Of course! It was still thundering and we weren't tired enough to sleep..
Thank God I had my iPod Touch with me. And not just the iPod Touch.. but I had:

TWILIGHT! Yes thats right!! I had the entire movie in my iPod. So we watched it. It was my (just an estimate) 100th time and Marke's FIRST TIME. Can you believe it!? The screen was kinda small and my earphone's were 50% broken so the sound wasn't that good. Or it wouldn't have been. Luckily Marke brought a bag with her, that had a little speakers on it! So, in the end, we watched the Twilight-movie from my iPod, using bag's speakers, in a tent, at Grand Canyon. And during a thunderstorm.
Just an average day for us ;)
