Finally. At last. Today. I saw 500 Days Of Summer. And it was amaaaaaazing!
The characters in this movie were just like real people. There wasn't any cliché stereotypes like in most movies that include falling in love. Like the Proposal: heartless, bossy woman and a underdog guy. And the woman does exactly what you can expect a bossy-heartless woman to do and so does the underdog guy. UNTIL, the turning point where they fall in love! This same 'love at first turning point' -thing happens in millions of movies! I'm so sick of that! BUT, this one: 500 Days Of Summer was something different. Something awesome! The persons were not as black and white as the persons in those 'turning point love'-movies. This was just so phenomenal.
Here's some fun stuff from the movie:
"Just because she's likes the same bizarro crap you do doesn't mean she's your soul mate" -Tom's 12-year-old sister Rachel
"Just some guy she met at the gym with Brad Pitt's face and Jesus' abs" - Tom's 12-year-old sister Rachel
Tom: What happens when you fall in love?
Summer: You believe in that?
Tom: It's love. It's not Santa Claus..
I need to get this movie on DVD so I can watch it again!
But damn how it made me lose my faith in love. And realize that it's SO NOT helping anyone to believe in love when you are in love! I have no idea when it's okay to believe there's such a thing called love. Love is always said to be a wonderful thing, but what's so wonderful if the other doesn't love you back? So when you think you are in love, you are not. You are not in love when you KNOW you are in love, either! You are in love, when you are loved back! Love is such a cliché. No one really knows what it is. But a lot of people know what it is not!
