drooling hummingbirds

Everyone (read: The Reelz-channel) is talking about the new Harry Potter -movie. I have no idea should I go ahead and just see it. Part of me yells "Hell no!" and the other says: "Oh c'mon.. give it a try!" My relationship with the whole Harry Potter hype is slightly complicated.
I just detest him: Harry Potter. The first movie was totally watchable..After all, they were just little kids back then. As was I. It was soooo much fun to rewind to Draco Malfoy's face when the troll came in.. It was fun. But now that I think about it, it's not! So the first movie isn't that watchable anyway..anymore.
Seriously, a kid with a scar and funky glasses saves the day again and again? And you really need to write 7 books about it? Isn't one enough to tell the point:Mickey Mouse - a tail + a magic wand = Harry Potter. And fyi, I don't like Mickey! He's so annoying! He always knows how to catch a villain, he's got the money for anything he wants(still he uses the same clothes most of the time) and a lot of friends to help him. And his friends..oh, I shouldn't even start with this one! But yeah, he's gotta nice girlfriend and there's no other mouse who's trying to seduce her. And one of his best friends is Goofy.. Mickey looks even smarter and luckier with a stupid friend! Poor Goofy.. Another good friend of Mickey's is a POLICE! And usually he asks for Mickey's help! Or even worse: Mickey just decides to go and help his buddy! Sooo, there's a trained police and a mouse. And the mouse solves the crime! It just isn't fair, not to mention REAL! Donald the Duck is another thing. Oh, how I love him! His life isn't easy. And whose life really is easy? No one's! Except for Mickey and Harry.
There's just nothing I can get out of the Harry Potter -stuff.. I tried to read the books in English and in Finnish. I watched most of the movies too. Listened to people hyping about it. I bought Harry Potter-candies to make myself like him even in some low level! But even the candies tasted bad!
I have tried to lure myself to watch "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire". There's Robert Pattinson in it, but I still can't make myself to watch it. I'm not a huge fan of R.Pattz though. REALLY! You may be able to cause me a minor heart attack by telling me that he was in the same school as you were (and at the same time!). But I'd still claim that there are miiiiiilllions of bigger fans than me.
Anyway, the new Harry Potter. There's no Robert Pattinson. There's no Donald Duck. There's just a Mickey Mouse without a tail and with a magic wand. It's not a short movie. It's a long movie. I'm not sure can I spend ~10bucks on a 2,5hr movie that I dislike already. Not the movie itsself though! Just the character! I have nothing against the magic wands and spells and owls.. Ron Weasley looks like a nightmare but at least he's got some problems! And having problems makes everything real. After all, easy come - easy go. Some HP-fan sure thinks now: "But Voldemort wants to kill Harry? Isn't that a problem?" Well, not for me! If Harry was killed in the first book, I could at least pity him! "Oh poor fellow died." But no, no,no, he stays alive and more books will be written..
I could go on for hours with this subject. I guess I'll continue some other day.. maybe when I've seen the newest movie. If I see it. I guess I'll. And I also guess I will not change my opinion about HP.
