Roadtrip part 2 Phoenix- Grand Canyon

After leaving this:

..we headed to the north towards the Grand Canyon.
On the way there we stopped a couple of times to take photos. But sometimes I had to try to snap some as we were driving.

This is a necklace that I bought in Camp Verde. Marke didn't know how to appreciate my deep thinking: which one to take. But the most of them were too nice. Luckily I finally decided and ended up buying only one.

One bigger stop before Grand Canyon was Flagstaff. It was very cute little town, right on the world-famous Route66.

When we finally reached Grand Canyon, it wasn't too easy to find our own camping spot. We totally assumed that it will be like a tent-village and the cars need to be parked further away. But no, everyone had their own little spot where to put up the tent and park the car( right next to it).

The Grand Canyon itself..was..well..it was exactly like in the picture and what I heard: big. But that was about it. Sure it was captivating. But still I think that one time is enough. So no need to go back.

After seeing this part of the Grand Canyon we went to do some shopping. We needed some food. When I was still in the line for the check-out, Marke informed me that it was pouring outside! And sure there was some thunderstorm too! Nice. And our tent was outside waiting for us.. "Now it would get wet.. all the way through to my blanket" I thought. The tent was 90% dry when we got there. Luckily! So what did I buy? As a well-educated girl that I am, I chose some cinnamon-brown sugar mini-bagels and triple chocolate pudding! Healthy shit! But I also had some Animal Crackers, red grapes and green apples that I had bought from El Cajon and Phoenix. (Later I forgot one half of one of the apples into the car for quite some time and the smell was absolutely gross!! Luckily it went away with the apple)

When we had dined at our gorgeous dining table, we tried to sleep. In the tent. Of course! It was still thundering and we weren't tired enough to sleep..
Thank God I had my iPod Touch with me. And not just the iPod Touch.. but I had:

TWILIGHT! Yes thats right!! I had the entire movie in my iPod. So we watched it. It was my (just an estimate) 100th time and Marke's FIRST TIME. Can you believe it!? The screen was kinda small and my earphone's were 50% broken so the sound wasn't that good. Or it wouldn't have been. Luckily Marke brought a bag with her, that had a little speakers on it! So, in the end, we watched the Twilight-movie from my iPod, using bag's speakers, in a tent, at Grand Canyon. And during a thunderstorm.
Just an average day for us ;)
